Stories from Our Community

Real experiences from the people Mandy's Project has had the honor of walking alongside. Names are never shared — only the stories, with permission.

Why we share these stories

Every person who reaches out to Mandy's Project carries a story of courage. Sharing those stories — safely and anonymously — helps others know they are not alone, and helps our community understand the real human impact of the work we do together.

We never publish a name, location, or any detail that could identify someone. Initials shown here were chosen by us, not provided by the person who shared their story. If you submitted a story and would like it removed at any time, please contact Sam at sam@mandysproject.org.

When my husband was detained, I did not know where to turn. Mandy's Project helped me understand what was happening and connected me with people who could help. I did not feel alone anymore.

M.R.Immigrant Welcome Center

When my wife was detained, Mandy's Project connected us with the food pantry network. I was able to get diapers for my baby and feed my family thanks to their guidance. I don't know what we would have done without them.

A.L.Family Support

Sam answered my call on a Sunday evening. She did not have to do that. She stayed on the phone with me until I felt calm. I will never forget that kindness.

C.V.

When my husband was detained, Mandy's Project helped our family find support and feel less alone.
