A family legacy of helping others
Mandy's Project began with Mandy's lifelong commitment to helping others — a passion she shared with her husband, Ed, and daughter, Sam.
How it all began
After Mandy passed away in August 2023, Ed moved in with Sam. As they grieved, they found purpose by supporting immigrant and unhoused neighbors. Through that work, they discovered a vast network of small, local groups quietly caring for their communities.
Sam and Ed began "stuff-raising" — collecting useful items that others no longer needed and placing them with people who could use them. What started simply grew into many different projects. Friends and family soon stepped in to help organize donations and serve these community networks.
Ed passed away in May 2026, just days before Mandy's Project was officially created. He helped get the organization off the ground and knew that Mandy's passion for helping others would live on through it.
Ed's Food Pantry honors the front-yard pantry he and Sam created for their neighbors. On any given day, Ed could be found outside talking with visitors and helping them select food.
Your donation helps Mandy's Project give practical, compassionate support to neighbors who need a hand up.
Our mission
To meet people in their most vulnerable moments — with food, support, resources, and dignity — and to build a community where no one has to face hardship alone.
Compassion
We meet people exactly where they are — without judgment, without conditions, with open arms.
Community
Every project we run started with two people paying attention. We believe community is built one act at a time.
Dignity
Whether it's a Karma Bag or an immigration bond, we show up in ways that honor the humanity of every person we serve.
Hope
Ed and Mandy showed us that love doesn't end. It finds new ways to show up in the world.
