Immigrant Welcome Center
Care and dignity for immigrants released from detention
About the Immigrant Welcome Center
We support a center in Arizona that welcomes people immediately after they are released from ICE detention — greeting them with meals, showers, clothing, and phones to contact family.
Volunteers at the center offer rides to airports, bus stations, and beyond, plus food and water in travel backpacks. After the trauma of detention, this place offers the first breath of dignity and care.
Community in Action
Neighbors showing up with open arms
A local group gathered clothing, suitcases, backpacks, and supplies — filling bags and bins to bring to the Welcome Center for people who arrive with almost nothing after being released from immigration detention.
This is what community looks like. When people walk out of a detention center, they shouldn't have to walk out empty-handed — and thanks to neighbors like these, they don't.
How You Can Help
The center relies on donated goods to serve people in their most vulnerable moments. Here is what is always needed:
Clothing
- Men's clothing — always needed (comfortable, travel-ready)
- Women's clothing (comfortable, travel-ready)
- New men's socks and underwear
- New women's bras, underwear, and socks
- Shoes (all sizes)
Travel Gear
- Small carry-on wheeled suitcases
- Backpacks
Food & Supplies
- Single-serve, shelf-stable food (no heating or cooling needed)
- Water bottles
- Travel-size toiletries (shampoo, soap, deodorant)
